It's been a long time since I've checked in! We've just been plugging away, enjoying the summer. Trying to stay on top of the insurance company and contractor to get our house fixed up. So far we have a new roof and AC but that's about it. Madeleine's room is still gutted, but supposedly they'll be dealing with that next week. I'll believe it when I see it! At least Ameriprise is being good about covering everything, even if it's impossible to reach our adjuster. Madeleine is still talking up a storm, although I think she's started to use many of her words interchangably, so we'll have to see where that goes. And Matt thinks I've turned her into a graham cracker addict. But she hasn't had one in several days and no withdrawal symptoms, other than the occasional "more" sign along with "Yummy?!" I think her favorite word is still "Augie."

Tomorrow is our nanny, Kate's, last day. I will miss her! She has been absolutely wonderful. She loves Madeleine, takes her all over the place, plays with her, never watches TV, leaves me notes about what Madeleine ate and did, and has been on time every single morning. Plus she's just a happy, sweet person who reads "War and Peace" while Madeleine is napping. What a find! I hope she'll consider coming back next year.
